aespa's Giselle cancels Instagram Live birthday event out of respect for Itaewon Halloween tragedy

aespa has canceled an upcoming schedule for member Giselle.


SM Entertainment has announced that Giselle will not be holding the Instagram Live commemorating her birthday today (October 30). The event was originally meant to be a Q&A format where the idol would answer fan-tweeted questions. The cancelation is one of many announced in the Korean entertainment industry following President Yoon's announcement that the country would enter an official mourning period from October 30 - November 5 due to the recent Itaewon tragedy.

Meanwhile, as previously reported, over 100,000 individuals gathered in the Itaewon neighborhood on October 29 to celebrate Halloween. As of 9:30 AM on October 30, 151 deaths and 82 injuries have been confirmed.
