On August 12, Cube Entertainment announced BTOB member Peniel's brief hiatus from promotions.

The agency revealed on this day,

"Hello, this is Cube Entertainment. 

BTOB member Peniel will be halting his activities temporarily due to an ankle injury. 

On the evening of August 10, Peniel sustained an injury to his ankle while exercising. He promptly visited the hospital for a thorough checkup as well as emergency treatment. 

According to the medical diagnosis, Peniel is in need of surgery for a ruptured Achilles tendon, and so the surgery will take place later today (August 12). 

In order to prioritize our artist's health as of the utmost importance, we have decided that Peniel will halt his promotions temporarily as to focus on his recovery. 

Thus, until his ankle recovers, Peniel will be on a brief hiatus from his promotions with BTOB as well as in his individual activities. 

We apologize for causing fans and affiliates concerns. We promise to do our best for Peniel's speedy recovery.
