An analysis of BTS members' Instagram statistics showed that Jimin had the highest engagement rate from his followers, standing at 47.78%.
Social tracker, a site for tracking social media statistics, ranked Jimin at the top with the highest participation rate among the members, using data collected over a period of two weeks ending on January 7th. The participation rate denotes the number of followers who actively interact with content from the account, such as by liking and commenting on the posts.
These results prove Jimin's popularity once again, especially because Jimin is the least active member on the platform with only seven posts so far, but the results of this analysis focused on the period when the posts were only 6. Moreover, the results also show that more followers do not necessarily equate to higher engagements for an account. Notably, if a brand was to have an endorsement deal with a social influencer, the important aspect that would influence the brand's selection of the influencer would be the volume of engagements that the influencer can bring to the brand. As such, Jimin would be a favorite when it comes to something like this.
Despite having previously said that he is not used to the platform and that it would take him some time to adapt, given that the BTS members only opened individual Instagram accounts last month, Jimin shares his daily activities that show different emotions, making his fans to connect with him more and more.
For instance, he has shared pictures of his recent vacation to Jeju Island, and the posts got high engagements from across the world, causing an influx of visitors to the same locations he had visited and completely turning around the fortune of small businesses in the region that had been ailing due to the adverse COVID-19 effects [read here and here]. The connection is even deeper due to Jimin's characteristic of being kind and loving in how he communicates with his fans, his words always bringing warmth to the hearts of fans. Consequently, the fans always look forward to any posts from him.
Here are some reactions from fans on learning of this analysis and the ranking.
As of now, Jimin has crossed 27.2 million followers on the platform and is the third most followed member. He also gains a high number of followers each day even without any activity on the account, such as on December 19th when he had the biggest growth for a Korean act on the platform over a period of 24 hours, having gained over 166k followers with his account having only two posts that had been posted over a week prior. It is also worth noting that despite not being the most followed member, Jimin, however, holds the record as the world's most mentioned individual on Instagram, with his hashtag #jimin having surpassed 66 million posts as of December 6th. This record is also reflective of the results of the engagement rate analysis on his account.
Fans are always anticipating hearing from Jimin as their source of comfort and to cheer up and are looking forward to more posts from him in the future.
Jimin's fans are always waiting patiently for all his post.
