UnionWave is a multinational Kpop Girl group set to debut this summer
What makes them special isn’t just that they’re multinational in itself, but there are non-Asian members amongst them as well
Gyeongmin - Korean (‘00)
Chaerin - Korean from US/Russia (‘01)
Najung - Hong Kong Chinese (‘02)
Nia - Spanish (‘03)
Miriam - Italian (‘04)
Among the members are multiple spoken languages being Korean, Chinese (Mandarin + Cantonese), Japanese, English, Spanish, Valencian, Italian, & Russian
Non-Asians debuting in Kpop is not really new nowadays. From ex-Rania’s Alex Reid, to soloist Lana, to most of the members of the Mnet girl group project UHSN
It’s great to see the further diversity being pushed into Kpop
Anticipate the upcoming debut of UnionWave
They are really young :/ I hope the Non Asians can atleast speak Korean
