Filipino Kpop Trainees Light Up In Dance Practice Video

Winners of Hello K-Idol training at Rainbowbridge World (RBW) in Korea teases with their first cover dance practice video

Last year, Viu Philippines launched Hello K-Idol, a reality show where ten trainees compete and show that they have what it takes to be a Kpop idol.

On its finale, they announced that all top four trainees would be sent for an all-expenses paid K-Pop training scholarship at Rainbowbridge World (RBW). JP Soliva, Kheene Salas, Guion Antonio, and Yukito Kanai travelled to Seoul, South Korea earlier this year.

In a recent post on Hello K-Idol’s Facebook Page, they shared a dance practice video filmed during their first few weeks of training. The boys cover Valkyrie (발키리), the debut song of RBW’s new boy group ONEUS. The title has two meanings: first being the mythical Nordic creature who takes worthy warriors to Valhalla (Viking’s Warrior Heaven), and secondly through its pronunciation which is similar to 밝히리 (to light up) in Korean.

It could not be more apt, since the winners of Hello K-Idol got to their version of Valhalla and experienced the exacting and meticulous training that the South Korean entertainment industry is known for. And as we can see in their dance practice, the HKI boys lit it up and showed how much they improved after training for just a short period.

The choreography was made for six members, but the four HKI winners fill the studio to draw you in. What elevates their cover dance is that they have the basics of Kpop dance drilled down. It’s visible in how they move their whole body.

Kpop male group dances put synchronization to a new level, and that’s what the HKI winners are learning in RBW. The synchronicity of their steps and organic unity of the dance composition raise the bar in what we can expect from them. With more months of training ahead for them, the Hello K-Idol boys are definitely going to show that they have what it takes to be a K-Idol.

More experiences of Viu Philippines’ Hello K-Idol winners as they continue their journey to making their dreams come true can be seen on Hello K-Idol ExclusiVlogs and Hello K-Idol The Winners’ Journey - Seoul. These two shows will be available on Viu soon.

In the meantime, relive how these Hello K-Idol winners bested the competition and moved on to train in the prestigious Rainbowbridge World, only on viu.com.
