Back in the 2000s, Gwen Stefani hired four Asian backup dancers in schoolgirl outfits that followed her everywhere and called them the Harajuku Girls, giving each a pet name. They were basically her puppets and even contractually obligated to only speak Japanese in public. At the time, comedian Margaret Cho and several critics called her out for reinforcing negative stereotypes of Asian women and profiting off the exploitation of their exoticized bodies while relegating them to the margins.

Blinks shouldn't take this as a badge of honor, given her history of ignorance and refusal to respond to or acknowledge her checkered past with the Asian community. She clearly has some ancient ideas and for all we know may just be looking for her next backup dancers.
