Actor Park Hoon revealed the touching story behind his stage name.
The February 21 episode of tvN's 'Life Bar' welcomed the actors of 'Memories of The Alhambra' as the guests.
During the talk show, Park Hoon revealed, "My legal name is Park Won Hee. My brother's name is Park Hoon. Park Hoon Hee to be exact. We were called Won and Hoon. My brother committed suicide when I was young. It was when I was 14 years old in middle school. Due to the incident, my parents separated on bad terms."
Park Hoon continued, "During my first audition, I thought, 'Should I audition with my brother's name?"
MC Shin Dong Yup asked, "Did you think it would be nice for your hyung?" Park Hoon replied, "Yeah that too, but I could be more responsible. To not be a shame to his name. During my first performance, I gave the pamphlet to my father. My father said, 'I don't need to see this. I won't see it,' but he saw it later and he cried."
Park Hoon lastly said, "I've recently appeared on an amazing drama and also came on a great show like this. I can't be a hope to those people in a similar situation but I wish I can be an encouragement to them."
