YG Entertainment spoke up on rumors that Kang Sung Hoon had embezzled donations.
Along with possible rumors of a girlfriend running his fancafe and a lack of explanation for a canceled fanmeeting, fans had pointed out that 100 million KRW had gone missing. The money was raised through a video exhibition that Kang Sung Hoon's personal fanclub had hosted. The video exhibition was hosted by Kang Sung Hoon's fanclub, but all fans had participated in the donations. There was a promise that the money would be donated under the 'Sechskies' name.
However, fans are complaining that there is no clear direction where the money went, and that this was not the first time that Kang Sung Hoon had monetary issues with fans by not being transparent.
On all the rumors, YG Entertainment said, "This is YG Entertainment. We express our deep regrets about the unfortunate situations that happened through Kang Sung Hoon's solo fanmeeting. So far, Kang Sung Hoon had run his solo fanmeetings himself. But from now on, YG Entertainment will be looking through the details of all the situation and solve the problem as quickly as possible so there are no victims."
Netizens noted that YG Entertainment's (or any other entertainment label's) usual threat of a lawsuit on spreading false information was missing from the statement, and are taking that to mean that most of the rumors may be true.
What do you think about the accusations and the statement?
