Go Hyun Jung's label IOK Company has issued an official statement of apology regarding the actress's recent drama controversy.
On February 8, the label began, "Go Hyun Jung will officially leave the cast of SBS's Wed-Thurs drama 'Return'. We would like to apologize sincerely to viewers, as 'Return' is currently receiving so much love, and we have caused the production concerns despite this prosperity."
About the exact cause of friction between Go Hyun Jung and Joo Dong Min PD, the label stated, "During the production process, there was a difference in opinions between our side and the production staff, and we tried to work out these differences but ultimately did not succeed in closing the gaps. We have determined after a lot of discussion and thought that continuing to film at this point would be difficult. Rather than pointing fingers and blaming, we have accepted SBS's order to leave the cast, because we understand that a person who has an issue must drop out, since a drama is made through the work of many individuals cooperating together."
The label ended with, "IOK Company and Go Hyun Jung will send messages of encouragement to 'Return' as viewers from now on."
Reports on February 8 also claimed that SBS will likely delete the character played by Go Hyun Jung, named Choi Ja Hye, from the storyline, period. SBS staff are currently discussing the possibility of introducing new characters, who will enhance the story and develop the current characters. Filming will reportedly resume this February 11.
