Tickets to Big Bang's concert is the most popular by international tourists visiting Korea

Ticketing service StubHub revealed on December 5 that, "tickets to Big Bang's concert held back in January at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul was the most sold event in the first half of 2017 among tourists visiting Korea."

According to StubHub, Big Bang's concert titled 'BIGBANG10 THE CONCERT : 0.TO.10 FINAL IN SEOUL' was the most popular event with 72% of ticket purchases being made by foreigners. Following this, band Coldplay's performance in Korea from April was also a popular choice, as well as 2PM's concert in Seoul back in February. BTS' concert and 'SM Town Live in Seoul 2017' concert were also popular events among international fans.


During the first half of 2017, tourists from Japan purchased the most tickets out of all the foreigners, followed by the United States, Britain, Canada,and Germany trailing behind.


On the flip side, the international event that domestic fans in Korea bought the most tickets for was the soccer match between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona this past spring.The most popular international event purchases for Koreans were tickets for Real Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester United, FC Barcelona, and Chelsea.


Cho Hyun Joon of StubHub Korea commented: "With the rise of the K-Pop wave, many tourists are more likely to visit Korea, in addition to attending concerts and other related events."
