The 'Produce 101' contestant was reported to be having contract disputes with his agency in July, and they've yet to come to a conclusion. According to insiders, Kim Tae Dong, his father, and his lawyer have been unable to successfully negotiate with agency Major 9 (formerly called The Vibe Label), CJ, and Loen Entertainment. Filming for JBJ's upcoming album and reality show are currently taking place with 6 members and without Kim Tae Dong.
As Major 9 is a label under the Loen Tree, Loen Entertainment gave an official statement on September 7, saying, "Kim Tae Dong and Major 9 have yet to come to an agreement on negotiations. If this continues, it's possible Kim Tae Dong will not join JBJ's debut promotions. If both sides reach an agreement before the debut showcase or any day before then, Kim Tae Dong can join JBJ."
Major 9 also stated, "We're still waiting for Kim Tae Dong."
JBJ have confirmed their debut for October 18.
