Celebrities have continuously been accused of getting advantages or "having it easy" during their mandatory military service. Recently, Super Junior's Shindong, who got discharged from the military in December, was also accused of receiving celebrity advantages due to his significant weight gain and long hair.
Many netizens, especially male netizens who served, are expressing fury at the sight of T.O.P's improper outfit. Comments on an online community stated, "If a non-celebrity wore it like that then they would have to run 10 laps...", "A non-celebrity would've got in so much trouble for what he did", "I can't believe no one said anything about that when they gathered to take the picture. Even a little mistake like that would've caused the entire group to get in trouble", "They probably let him go since he's a celebrity. If it was a non-celeb who did that then they would've gotten disciplined so bad."
In response to the controversy, a representative from the army training camp stated, "The 25th regime company 1 division 1 uniform are supposed to have the name tag on the right side. Trainee Choi Seung Hyun must have been confused and mistakenly wore it on the other side."
