SM Entertainment's art director, Min Hee Jun, revealed a behind-the-scenes story regarding group f(x) after the departure of member Sulli.
On November 30, Min Hee Jun appeared as a lecturer at the '4th Contents Insight' that opened at the Nuri Dream Square in Sangam-dong. There, Min talked about f(x)'s fourth album, '4 Walls,' that was released last year.

She stated, "After Sulli's departure, the group was reformatted to four members, and it was so hard creating its image. A visual member left, and we had to cover that up. f(x)'s fourth album, '4 Walls,' was prepared with a visual member missing. I was in trouble. I also had the homework of making the group seem sturdy as a whole more than [concerning myself with] the visual.
"I mulled over what I could do to make the promotions seem fun. Nowadays, it's like some formula to release teasers before the comeback, but it felt overdone. That's why I prepared an event that seemed to take place at some secret location. Our nation's idols have special characteristics about them. You cannot ignore [the things that make them special]; [and therefore] there are so many restrictions to doing something creative in Korea's idol market."
Sounds like she feels restricted by the things expected from her when promoting idols because they have such set images and characteristics. What do you make of this?
