DOCTORS -- EPISODE 11

"We must remove that part of the brain that is responsible for bad puns..."

Director Myeong Hoon gives Hye Jung a pass for taking gifts and chastises his daughter Seo Woo about rising to power quietly. Ji Hong's old girlfriend In Joo shows up much to Hye Jung's consternation. Yoon Do tries in vain to get Hye Jung off his mind. An unconscious patient is brought in -- but unbeknownst to the other doctors, her hubby is abusive and likely put her in that state. Director Jin demands that President Hong hand over the rest of the evidence he has on the slush fund. When Hong refuses, Jin makes a veiled threat about Ji Hong. President Hong tries to stop him from leaving, collapses, and dies.

Yoon Do has his opening. Can we say foreshadowing? He already warned Ji Hong that if he ever saw an opening, he was going to take it. Frankly I don't think he has a chance. He constantly has a scowl on his face. Not the most welcoming sight! He just seems too serious, undemonstrative, everything that Ji Hong is not. I dunno, maybe Yoon Do has a shot, but I still ship Hye Jung and Ji Hong.

"I hate that song! I must change the station, but I can't reach the knob..."

All conspirators in the project to make Guk Il Medical Center an investing company have been revealed, thanks to the late President Hong. I think that with Hong dead, Myeong Hoon's resignation will be withdrawn. After all, that's clearly what his father Director Jin wants, for him to continue on his path to power. "Our children's roads become our own," Jin said. I foresee a power struggle between Ji Hong and the others. Tae Ho is effectively emasculated, but he might still be useful in the fight to keep the hospital intact.

And we have an abusive relationship. They like to put these in dramas nowadays. They haven't revealed much yet, he just says creepy things to his wife when he's alone. What's twisted is that no one sees it. The nurses blush and coo as he walks by and you hear things like "sweet man" and "ideal type." No one is any the wiser. I have a feeling that she didn't just fall down the stairs. I just wonder how they're going to find out (cuz they have to). Investigation? Or do they catch him in the act?

"20 Questions? Okay, I'm in. Animal, vegetable, or mineral?"

This is still pretty awesome. This episode was fairly dark, though. I wonder if the President's death is going to prevent Ji Hong from functioning. It will be the second father he's lost. We're probably going to have funeral proceedings, though. Would the other admins proceed with their plans while he's otherwise occupied? What will be the resolution of the abuse subplot? Will Seo Woo find some other way to be vindictive? It'll be fun to find out.
