For this year, our allkpop staff members combed through numerous releases to bring you a list of fifty of the year's most noteworthy songs. (Note: To be on this ranking, the songs had to be released between the dates of January 1, 2014 to December 15, 2014 for consideration.) The songs are listed based on a combination of level of popularity on allkpop, music chart rankings, music show awards, and staff opinion.
Today, we bring you the ranking for numbers forty one to fifty on our list.

40. Orange Caramel "Catallena"
Album: THE THIRD SINGLE CATALLENA
Label: Pledis
Release Date: March 12, 2014Orange Caramel's bright disco track, "Catallena," inevitably made its way into our hearts this year, making it on to our list of 'Annoyingly catchy songs of the year' (if we had one). Although the retro theme and disco vibe aren't out of the ordinary, Orange Caramel added their own charm to the song, taking over the industry with their hilarious choreography and ridiculously catchy song. As a girl group, Orange Caramel had the audience in shock as they took an unconventional, kooky concept, drawing more attention and a rather positive feedback from the audience.
39. MAMAMOO "Mr. Ambiguous"
Album: HELLO
Label: WA Entertainment
Release Date: July 18, 2014allkpop Review
The track starts off with Bumkey's deep 'doom-doo's keeping the beat and when the harmonious vocals jump in, you already know its going to be a winner. The coy girls of MAMAMOO flirt with not their body but their vocals in "Mr. Ambiguous." The groovy song has you bobbing your heads to the beats and the rap part isn't corny; rather, it gives a tasteful twist to the track.
38. WINNER "Empty"
Album: 2014 S/S
Label: YG Entertainment
Release Date: October 12, 2014allkpop Review
Despite the fact that this group only debuted mid-2014, WINNER made a positive impact in the industry with their debut track, "Empty." The song featured all the right charms of the boys, especially highlighting Kang Seung Yoon's husky vocals and Mino's natural flow. Choosing quality over sensationalism, WINNER's "Empty" quietly takes its place in the Top 50.
37. Taemin "Danger"
Album: The 1st Mini Album ACE
Label: SM Entertainment
Release Date: October 18, 2014allkpop MV Review
Heavily influenced by the king of pop, Michael Jackson, "Danger" is a track that firmly placed Taemin as one of the more unique characters in K-Pop. With "Danger," Taemin was finally able to show his own personality on stage away from SHINee through hauntingly inspiring performances.
36. TaeTiSeo "Holler"
Album: The 2nd Mini Album Holler
Label: SM Entertainment
Release Date: September 16, 2014allkpop Review
Flashing lights and everything nice, TaeTiSeo girls made their comeback with "Holler" in which they sing about being one of a kind. The overall execution of the song is a bit weak for the high standards set for TaeTiSeo, but these girls are the best in doing what they do--especially looking drop-dead gorgeous. The overall charm of this song puts them on our list of Top 50 songs.
35. 2PM "Go Crazy"
Album: GO CRAZY
Label: JYP
Release Date: September 29, 2014allkpop Review
HOTTESTs were waiting and 2PM delivered. "Go Crazy" brought back the group to their "10 Out of 10" days when the boys fully displayed their silly, goofy selves. Not that their ballad tracks were bad or anything, but it did fail to show the unique personalities of 2PM that we all cherished dearly. "Go Crazy" is fun, exciting, and definitely one of the best songs to jam out to this year.
34. EXID "UP&DOWN"
Album: Up&Down
Label: Yedang Entertainment
Release Date: October 27, 2014
This has to be one of the most underrated songs of the year. EXID's "Up & Down" really should have been what made the group go viral, not some fan cam video. The fast-paced song includes a unique saxophone beats and a strong hook that snatch the listeners' attention, making it stand out from the other dance songs that were released this year.
33. 4minute "Whatcha Doin' Today?"
Album: 4minute World
Label: Cube Entertainment
Release Date: March 17, 20144minute's "Whatcha Doin' Today" isn't the most interesting song of the year, but it keeps true to what 4minute is known for: super addictive songs and being one of the more consistent girl groups in K-Pop. What's more interesting is that it seems to be the follow-up question to 4minute's "What's Your Name?"
32. AOA "Short Hair"
Album: Short Hair
Label: FNC Entertainment
Release Date: June 19, 2014
allkpop ReviewFNC Entertainment is known to release some quality songs and AOA's "Short Hair" was definitely not an exception. The beats are simple but catchy, and the vocal power is what drives the overall song, automatically placing the song above a lot others. The high-pitched vocals, which could easily turn into screeching, are surprisingly stable and adds onto the catchiness of the song.
31. Park Bo Ram "Beautiful"
Album: Beautiful
Label: MMO Entertainment
Release Date: October 7, 2014Aside from all the buzz surrounding her weight loss, Park Bo Ram also drew in attention with her debut track, "Beautiful," which features her adorably sweet vocals. As soon as the track dropped, Park Bo Ram quickly grabbed the media's attention and was deemed as one of the top rookies to be on the lookout for. Featuring Zico was only the cherry-on-top to an already satisfying sundae.
allkpop's 'Top 50 K-Pop Songs of 2014' is staff-determined and is not in any way connected with the fan-voted 2014 allkpop awards.
