Previously, Shin Jung Hwan was reported to have committed alleged fraud by accepting a bribe from a parent whose child wanted to become a celebrity and not following up on his promise.  While the complaint was withdrawn, he was still investigated, but the police recently cleared him of suspicions and dropped the case.

However, even though he was cleared of this case, due to his illegal gambling controversy from 2010, it seems he is still cautious about returning to the public eye.

Shin Jung Hwan's rep told Newsen on August 27, "Although Shin Jung Hwan was cleared of suspicions in the fraud case, he does not have any plans to return to activities [as a celebrity] yet.

Even now, Shin Jung Hwan is self-reflecting.  It is unsure whether he can pick up an opportunity and do broadcasting activities again, but he has no plans right now for a comeback."

In relation to the girlfriend he revealed back in May, the rep stated, "Even now, Shin Jung Hwan and his girlfriend are doing well.  His girlfriend is staying by his side and giving a lot of strength."
