The payment issue between the production company for KBS 2TV's 'Generation of Youth,' Ray&mo, and the cast members continues as despite claims that this will be settled by the end of May, it is now June and the actors still have yet to receive their full payment even though the drama ended back on April 3.
A rep of actor 'A', who chose to remain anonymous, said, "Before the completion of 'Generation of Youth,' it was decided that the entire appearance fee would be paid by the end of April. However, the payment did not arrive on the promised date. The production company said that things did not work out the way they had wished, so they promised they would make the payment by the end of May, but they still have not kept their promise even now.
At one point, we considered taking legal action, but the production company said they would make the payment and asked us to wait a bit longer, so we put it off temporarily. However, they still did not pay a portion of the appearance fee, so we are very frustrated."

The agency reps of some of the other actors backed up these statements, adding, "The production company has not been able to deal with the problem of payments for not only most of the main and supporting actors but also the minor actors."
The reps said that the production company promised to pay them with the profit from overseas promotion of the drama, but they failed to mention when and how they would be making the payments. Meanwhile, some actors are in better conditions because they acted in other productions after 'Generation of Youth,' but a portion of the actors are having a difficult time because they still have not been paid for their past work.
Broadcast insiders revealed that the production company has told its actors and staff that they're trying their best through various promotional events in Japan and such to make back enough money to pay everyone back. It's said some actors and staff have been receiving small increments and have received about 80% of their pay, but others have yet to receive anything.
