In the 14th episode of 'VIXX TV', Ravi and N came out wearing hats that not only had the Japanese Rising Sun Flag at the top, but also had the words that mean 'Japan is #1' on the hat. As Korea is a country that suffered under Japanese occupation and the Rising Sun Flag was heavily used by the Japanese military during their conquest, seeing the idols sport such a hat had many raising their eyebrows.

Jellyfish Entertainment issued an apology for the episode, saying, "Hello. This is Jellyfish Entertainment. First, we apologize for troubling many people for revealing a scene with the VIXX members wearing a problematic symbol in last year's 'VIXX TV'. We wanted to show the VIXX members' honest and comfortable sides during 'VIXX TV', which was created so the boys could communicate freely with their fans after debuting in 2012. Jellyfish Entertainment took care of the production and editing, but we didn't realize the problem and revealed it. Jellyfish Entertainment will pay more detailed care and make sure this does not happen again. We apologize once again for troubling those who love VIXX."
Many netizens and journalists speculate that this may all be part of noise marketing for the boys' upcoming promotions since it's strange timing for sudden past episodes of 'VIXX TV' to come into spotlight. The agency also has previously been caught media playing with similar tactics in the past by bringing negative attention to spotlight the group, such as when they themselves proposed that 'On and On' MV had plagiarized the movie 'Wolf Boy' with press releases disguised as articles written up by journalists, but were given away by the fact that all the pictures provided were credited as being sent out by Jellyfish Entertainment.
