SBS '8:00 News' broadcast reported on September 13th that prosecutors filed an arrest warrant for a famous celebrity under the suspicions of injecting 'Milk Shot' or Propofol, an intravenously administered hypnotic agent usually used as anesthesia.
According to SBS, "A very active female celebrity who hosts a program on cable TV suddenly lost consciousness at a nail salon in Gangnam this past April. She had an IV in her arm, and 5 bottles of 60mm Propofol were found in her bag."
They continued, "After further investigation, prosecutors confirmed that this celebrity had undergone plastic surgery more than once and became addicted to Propofol, administering it on a habitual basis. Propofol is a strictly regulated drug, but the celebrity had sent numerous texts to her acquaintances in order to obtain it."
The prosecutors have stated that Celebrity 'A' is currently denying having obtained Propofol, and therefore prosecutors have issued an arrest warrant for they are highly concerned that she will destroy any evidence. Prosecutors are also further investigating the case in order to find out if any other celebrities have been involved.
SBS added, "Celebrity 'A' claimed that the anesthesia had not completely worn off after a simple surgical procedure, and that she has not habitually administered Propofol."
But during a phone conversation with SportsKorea on September 13th, Celebrity 'A' tried to assert her innocence.
"After undergoing surgery at the hospital, the anesthesia had not completely worn off but I stopped by a nail salon where I lost consciousness," she said. " I awoke on my own and called an acquaintance to return home. I don't know how this situation came about."
She added, "I have already admitted on television that I have undergone plastic surgery. They could have used it as an anesthetic during the course of surgery, but it isn't true that I used it habitually. Because I administered it after I received a proper prescription from the hospital, I will willingly cooperate with all police investigations."
Even after the investigations began, celebrity 'A' has continued to work, and has been rather cooperative. "I was investigated for the first time in June," she continued. "If there really was a problem, then how could I have lived the way I did until now?"
Celebrity 'A' was also upset that prosecutors had inquired about other celebrities who are also abusing Propofol. "They made me sound like some kind of distributor for the other celebrities, asking me about them administering Propofol," she added. "I simply did as I was told by the doctor. I am extremely taken aback and feel completely wronged."
