Psy revealed that hateful comments are the driving force for the creation of his music.
On November 11th according to tvN's 'Baek Ji Yeon's People Inside' Psy stated,
"After I read hateful comments, such amazing music comes out of me."

They set my desire on fire to make music when I read them," he continued regarding rumors and hateful comments about him on the internet.

nlike the worries and disagreements of people around me, I had no trouble sleeping even on the first day of the enlistment.

I should've been the most depressed or stressed out, but rather I was the one who my fellow soldiers took comfort and solace in."
He also revealed his moto inspired by his optimism in the harsh reality of the entertainment industry, "
Everything happens for a reason. Something bad can always happen after something great, and when something bad happens I reassure myself something good must be waiting for me in the future."
He also commented on his concerts saying, "
If I don't see any sign of dehydration in my body after finishing a concert I feel mad. The audience paid their money for their tickets therefore I should always try my best to put on the best show."
Lastly, regarding his tears on stage recently he stated, "
I cry when I'm on stage because I'm too happy. But also because I know I won't be able to be on stage forever. Even when I'm in my 60's I want to be on stage just like now."
