Singer IU received a formal apology from Super Junior's Shindong that was certainly 'fruitful' in ending the controversy linking the two. While making an appearance on MBC Fm's "Shindong, Park Gyuri's Shimshimtapa" on December 22nd, Shindong gave IU an apple. Why an apple? In Korean, the word 'apology' has the same pronunciation as the word for 'apple' (sa-gwa). The apology was made because of a recent controversy stemming from IU's first comeback win on December 19th's "Inkigayo." Viewers had expressed their disappointment with Shindong after seeing him joking around while IU was crying. Although IU tried to end the issue with a personal clarification, Shindong's witty apology finally managed to reach the core of the controversy, and conclude it once and for all.
