Girl group Secret is currently promoting their latest comeback title track Madonna through a variety of live performances. But according to composer Shinsa Tiger, the group's fantastical hit Magic was actually originally meant for another recording artist. In case you don't know who Shinsa Tiger is, here's a basic summary: Korea is well known for their idol groups. With the exception of a few groups (ie. Big Bang), most idol groups have their hit tracks written by composers. And seeing as how Shinsa Tiger is responsible for Magic, Bo Peep, Hot Issue, Shock, Bad Girl and more--he's pretty much a big deal in the music scene. On the latest episode of Mnet's Beatles Code, Shinsa Tiger participated on the show and revealed some personal things about his life saying, "I came up to Seoul when I was 20. From a night club worker to a MC and to a DJ--there was nothing I hadn't done. But suddenly I wanted to get into music and that's why I've come down this road. At one point, my dream was to be a singer. I sometimes wonder if someone had chosen me to be an idol singer, maybe I could have been as big as Super Junior." Though his dreams didn't necessarily come true as he envisioned, he's written hit songs for a lot of the groups on the k-pop scene so he can definitely count that as a win. Also, being a writer for these many groups, Shinsa Tiger was the man with the magic touch responsible for Secret's hit track Magic. But he revealed that the song was not originally meant for them as he revealed, "It was actually a piece I had made for Seo In Young's solo track, but she turned it down because she felt that it didn't fit her musical image and concepts. Afterwords, I changed the melody and gave it to Secret; giving birth to Magic." It's actually quite interesting to think about how different Secret would be if they had not gone through their transformation for Magic.
