Actress Park Ye Jin has been confirmed for the role of Princess Chun Myung in MBC big budget saeguk drama of the year, Queen Seon Duk. There's no confirmed date (might be 11th May after Queen of Housewives) for the broadcast yet but tentatively, the drama will greet viewers in the earlier half of 2009 via the Mon-Tue timeslot. In a brief, the drama Queen Seon Duk is the life story of Princess Duk Man played by Lee Ye Won who later becomes the first-ever Queen of Shilla. Other big names in the drama include Ko Hyun Jung as Mi Sil, Uhm Tae Woong as famed general Kim Yoo Shin, Jo Min Ki as King Jin Pyeong (father of Princess Duk Man) and Myung Se Bin as Duk Man's mother. Princess Chun Myung is the twin sister of Princess Duk Man. Compared to the bubbly personality of her sister, Princess Chun Myung is very demure and lady-like. She will however play an important role in standing up against Mi Sil (Go Hyun Jung) who wields great power in politics. Princess Chun Myung is also the mother of Kim Chun Chu played by Yoo Seung Ho and plays a leading role in the unification of the Three Kingdoms of Korea in his time. The production team expressed that Park Ye Jin has a very solid acting background and has a very loveable feminine lady-like charisma, and thus is highly suitable for the role of Princess Chun Myung. Many are anticipating for the possible fireworks when the trio of Lee Ye Won, Go Hyun Jung and Park Ye Jin pits their acting skills against each other. Park Ye Jin will join the Queen Seon Duk production with minimal rest once filming for her present drama, KBS2TV Hateful But Once Again ends in late April. There was no mention of her stint on SBS Family Outing so she will probably handle drama and variety together again. Park Ye Jin's last period drama was Dae Jo Yeong in 2006.
