Jessi candidly opened up about the past year after parting ways with P-Nation.
On October 21st, Jessi made a guest appearance on Jay Park's YouTube channel and candidly shared her thoughts on her music ahead of her comeback. During the segment, Jessi revealed why she hasn't been as active for the past year.
Jessi opened up, "After 'Zoom' got massive success, there was a lot of pressure. I wanted to make music that's more relatable." She continued, "Every time I wanted to release that kind of music, the previous company wouldn't let me because people want to make pop music and make money. So I felt lost. For a year, I didn't do variety programs. Because I felt like my musical inspirations were gone."
She also mentioned, "When I was working as a freelancer without a label for a year, many people around me left me or I got f*ed over. That was the moment I realized I can trust nobody."
Jessi parted ways with P-Nation in July 2022. She signed with MORE VISION this year.
Meanwhile, Jessi will be releasing her new single under her new label, MORE VISION, on October 25 at 6 PM KST.
So what you're saying is that P Nation wasn't the savior of Kpop that everyone thought it would be?
I would say that I'm shocked... But that would be lying.
