Hip-hop artists and good friends Lee Young Ji and Layone have teamed up for a unique collaboration album, meant to serve as a farewell to their bright, teenage years.
Released back on January 6 at 6 PM KST, Layone x Youngji's 'The Language of Flowers' contains two tracks, "Freesia" and "Anemone". In fact, the album is creating a hot buzz among music listeners due to the fact that the two songs each depict Lee Young Ji and Layone's real-life feelings from a memory in their past when they nearly became a couple!
Previously, during a live broadcast, Lee Young Ji publicly revealed to her fans that she had confessed to rapper Layone in the past, and had been turned down. Lee Young Ji also explained that after growing distant for a while, she and Layone eventually decided to remain good friends.
Now, the two musicians have decided to turn their feelings into heartfelt music! First, "Freesia" details Layone's conflicted feelings after a close friend suddenly confesses to him, but he does not reciprocate her feelings. Next, "Anemone" is based off of Lee Young Ji's experience right after confessing to her friend and being turned down.
Meanwhile, Lee Young Ji and Layone began hinting at their collaboration album back in December, shortly after shocking the internet with their "best friends body profile photoshoot". Prior to their collaboration album release, the two musicians also held a joint concert on January 4.
