On February 13, Stray Kids's Lee Know and Hyunjin took on the recipe challenge on MBC's new variety series, 'Flushed-Cheek Feast of Hermits'!
Each week on 'Flushed-Cheek Feast of Hermits' (literal translation), home-chefs from all across Korea bring out some of their best recipes, trying to impress a group of honorable hermits who are enjoying a quarantine feast. The show is led by Yoo Min Sang, Sung Si Kyung, Seo Jang Hoon, HaHa, and Kim Jong Kook, a.k.a the hermits.
For the February 13 episode, Stray Kids members Lee Know and Hyunjin brought out a creative recipe that garnered the attention of their fans during a past broadcast. Using the spicy and addictive flavor of 'mala', the Stray Kids members put a tongue-torching twist on the traditional Korean dish samgye-tang (ginseng chicken soup). As many fans know, Stray Kids have been popularly coined "mala-flavored" idols by the public for their fiery music and performances.
The first hermit to try Stray Kids's mala-chicken dish was Kim Jong Kook, who gave it a huge thumbs-up! Kim Jong Kook commented that it was the perfect dish to get over a hangover. Next, the rest of the hermits including HaHa, Yoo Min Sang, and Sung Si Kyung all gave the mala-chicken dish the 'gold dagger', until the dish arrived at the seat of Seo Jang Hoon.
For Seo Jang Hoon, "I'm a little on the fence. It seems like a dish anyone can make fairly easily, so it could use a little more creativity."
However, after finding out that the dish was made by Stray Kids, Seo Jang Hoon bowed his head and said to the camera, "I sincerely apologize to all the Stray Kids fans in the world," causing laughter. In past episode, Seo Jang Hoon was also to blame for eliminating idol chefs who came on the show including iKON's Yun Hyeong and N.Flying.
