The new members of The Singing Girls recently sat down for 1theK to perform the group's latest single This Night live with veteran singer Yuri, who made her own debut in 2001.
The Singing Girls is a project group that made their debut as a duo in 2017. Originally, the group was an indie project centered around Kwon Aejin, solo artist that made her debut in 2015. The group's debut song I Like was recorded by her and solo artist Li-G, who made her debut in 2016.
For the second single, Still Like You, Aejin was assisted by Seo Sarang and Sanha from (disbanded) girl group Omyjewel.
In 2018, the group returned with a completely new line-up and a new concept for Maybe Maybe: idol group. The four members Jeong Jiyeon, Lahee (Kim Ahyeon), Park Eunbee and Sena (Park Minseon) made their idol debut though this song and were supposed to be the final line-up of the group as for an idol group the company wanted a fixed line-up. The members did already have experience in the music industry. Jiyeon had debuted through a duet with Han Dongjoon called I Love You in 2016. Lahee made her debut through a duet with Gong Minseok called End in 2016, sung children's song, appeared in musicals and has won prizes at singing contests. Park Eunbee won the competition 'I Like Singing' with her sister. Sena won 'Fantastic Duo' where she performed with COOL's Lee Jaehoon.
And now another line-up has been announced again: Bang Seungji, Aya (Hong Ahreum), Rookie (Kim Hyeoyeon), Oh Hyein and Sophie (Haena, a Canadian singer-songwriter). In the description fo the group's This Night video it was stated that the members Eunbee, Lahee, Sena and Jiyeon had withdrawn from the group. It seems like their vocals can still be heard on This Night. Which is why some of the girls are probably playbacking.
