On February 11, around 100 cars were involved in a huge multi-car crash on the Yeongjong Bridge near Incheon International Airport. Two people were killed and at least 68 were injured as a result of the pileup. The aftermath of the accident can be seen in the clip above.
The incident occurred around 9:30 AM KST. Police believe the pileup may have started when a bus first rear-ended a car, starting a chain of car crashes. Foggy weather with low visibility and icy road conditions have been cited as the likely causes. The weather conditions were bad to the point that 18 flights were delayed in departing from Incheon International Airport.
Eight people are in serious condition and are currently being treated in a hospital. 18 foreigners were reported to have been hurt, including seven visitors from China, three from Thailand, two from the Philippines, and two from Vietnam.
The damaged vehicles have been moved to Seoul. More footage of the wreckage can be seen below.
