On January 9, Danwon High School, which lost many of its second year students from the tragic Sewol Ferry incident back on April 16, held its graduation ceremony for its third years. During the ceremony, the Sewol Ferry survivors held a performance to send off their sunbaes and thank them for their support.
Netizens shared in the students' pain and left words of encouragement, saying, "(Quoting Kai's 'Even So I Loved You') We will meet again in the next world, I love you," "Teacher Nam Yoon Cheol, we miss you and love you," and, "Danwon High School graduates and Sewol Ferry survivors, as sad, regretful, and miserable the [Sewol Ferry] incident was, will you live your whole lives bound to it? Stamp on this incident and go out into your bright futures…."

In the clip above, CBS' 'No Cut View' shows 50 female Sewol Ferry survivors singing Lee Sun Hee's "Fate" for both the third years and for the fellow classmates they lost back in April. One student then reads a speech she prepared for her sunbaes and thanks them, saying tearfully, "Despite the sorrow we all sunk into this past spring, thanks to the strong and reliable sunbaes who stood like pillars and took care of us, we were able to endure the strong wave that hit us."
