Veteran K-pop singer Lee Ha Neul of the group DJ DOC is now facing severe backlash over his actions on a recent live broadcast. The 53-year-old singer criticized G-Dragon's new song 'Too Bad' while drunk on his livestream.
He began by saying, "Honestly, can I say this? I don't really like 'Too Bad.' I just don't know about this song. In my opinion, the choreography is not good either. People do the dance challenge just to suck up to G-Dragon."
Lee Ha Neul continued while using profanity: "To be honest, I'll say this even if it ruins my channel, even if it ruins my life. It's really not good to be honest, f***."
He then proceeded to mock the choreography for the song, doing a ridiculous imitation of the dance and saying, "Didn't Moon Hee Jun do this first?"
Lee Ha Neul then continued, "It's not good, sorry. I'm not going to pretend to be nice and I'm not going to hide what I really think." After noticing that an increased amount of viewers were joining the broadcast due to his criticism of G-Dragon, Lee Ha Neul then mocked them as well, saying: "Oh, I'm sorry. A lot of viewers came in because I'm criticizing this? Write an article about this, it will promote my channel," while continuing to use profanity.
This incident also isn't the first time Lee Ha Neul has criticized G-Dragon's music. In November 2024, Lee Ha Neul drew attention with his criticism of G-Dragon's song 'POWER,' though in this case, his commentary was more mild: "I respect G-Dragon, but his new song was below my expectations. I usually like everything he releases, but with this album, it felt like I could compete with him if I released an album at the same time. I’m not saying I don’t like him, we are just different."
