SHINee’s Key has successfully passed the Western Cuisine Cooking Certification practical exam after multiple attempts.
On March 25, SHINee’s official YouTube channel uploaded a video titled "241206 [Key] Western Cuisine Practical Exam | 241212 [Key] Exam Results Announcement."
In the video, Key arrived carrying a suitcase full of cooking tools, determined to make up for his previous failure in the exam. He shared his mindset, saying, "I’m here to correct my past mistakes."

Key revealed that he prepared for the exam entirely through self-study, explaining, "That’s why it would be crazy if I passed. I don’t want to study alone, but with my irregular schedule, I have no choice. If I pass, I hope people realize that self-study can work."
After completing the exam, Key excitedly exclaimed, "What do I do? I think I might actually pass!" He revealed that his test included French onion soup and a cheese omelet, which he called a "powerful combination." Confident in his performance, he stated, "If they fail me this time, something is definitely wrong."
Reflecting on his efforts, he said, "This is the hardest I've worked toward a goal since my SM Entertainment audition. I spent so much money ordering ingredients daily." He even received a meal kit gift from a cooking academy in recognition of his dedication.

On the results day, Key checked his score and celebrated, saying, "I passed!" He scored 76 points, well above the passing mark of 60. While he achieved perfect scores in hygiene, he was slightly disappointed in his French onion soup score (25 points) compared to his cheese omelet score (41 out of 45).
When he realized that he ranked among the top scorers, his manager confirmed, "Your hygiene score is perfect, so you’re in the top 0%. And you got the highest score in the omelet section too."
Relieved, Key jokingly declared, "I don’t have to do this anymore. I’m done with cooking!"
