South Korea has long been known as the mecca of plastic surgery, with its beauty-focused culture heavily influenced by K-pop and entertainment. Over the years, television programs centered on extreme makeovers have gained popularity, featuring individuals undergoing life-changing cosmetic procedures.

One of the most well-known shows in the past was 'Let Me In' or 'Let Beauty,' where participants with severe jaw misalignment or rare facial conditions received reconstructive surgery to improve their quality of life. While the program was met with both praise and controversy, it was largely seen as a means of medical intervention rather than pure aesthetics.

Recently, a new plastic surgery reality show, 'Make Me Girl,' has been making waves, but not for the reasons one might expect. Unlike its predecessor, this show is drawing concern from Korean netizens, who feel that the transformations are becoming more extreme and unnecessary.

One netizen shared some before and after photos of the show's participants and expressed concern. They commented, "Plastic surgery makeover shows like 'Let Me In' are seriously concerning. I still vividly remember 'Let Me In' because it helped people with severe jaw misalignment or rare facial conditions. But 'Make Me Girl' is the opposite. The results after surgery are actually more shocking…"

Other Korean netizens also joined the conversation and expressed their concerns over the societal pressure of looking good. Many of these netizens are pointing out that most of the 'Make Me Girl' participants looked completely fine even before the procedure.

They commented:

"Their noses..."
"They all look fine before the surgery."
"All of them look completely normal."
"Even before in 'Let Me In' they were fixing things that didn't necessarily need to be fixed (for example, giving a double eyelid surgery to someone with a malocclusion issue.) But this show's even worse."
"Their nose shape after surgery all look the same."
"The first person and second person after surgery look the same."
"What did they do to their noses."
"The third person looks okay."
"I don't think the point of discussion is about their noses looking unnatural. The point of the show is to give plastic surgery to people who have really bad conditions and give them a pretty plastic surgery makeover. But this is getting just bizarre-looking."
"Geez."
"Korea really has a serious issue with lookism."
