Boy band DAY6 will be performing at the Gymnastics Arena (KSPO Dome) for the first time in 10 years since their debut.
According to an exclusive report by Star News on the 10th, DAY6 will hold an encore concert at KSPO Dome, located in Olympic Park, Bangi dong, Songpa gu, Seoul, in the third week of May.
This marks DAY6’s first solo concert at the Gymnastics Arena since their debut in September 2015. While they previously headlined the 16th Seoul Jazz Festival 2024 at the same venue last May, this will be their first time staging a solo concert at the arena.
DAY6 made history last December by becoming the first Korean band to hold a special concert at Gocheok Sky Dome. The group, known for igniting the K-band craze and achieving a remarkable career resurgence, demonstrated their immense ticket power by selling out all 38,000 seats for two concerts immediately after ticket sales opened in November.
With each album, DAY6 has consistently reached new career highs. They cemented their status as a performance powerhouse by selling out all 34,000 seats for three concerts at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in April last year, followed by another 40,000 seats for three shows at Incheon Inspire Arena in September.
As a result, the K-pop scene has jokingly speculated that DAY6 is "running out of venues" and playfully suggested that the group should perform at Sangam World Cup Stadium or Gymnastics Arena next. Now, with a dream concert at Gymnastics Arena just six months after their Gocheok Dome debut, expectations are high for 'trustworthy and listenable' DAY6 to once again showcase a new side of their musical prowess.
DAY6 also made a significant mark at the 9th Asia Artist Awards (AAA 2024), held at IMPACT Challenger Hall 1-2 in Bangkok, Thailand, last December. They took home multiple top honors, including Album of the Year, Best Artist, Best Band, and the Grand Prize in the Singer category.
