Actress Jeon Hye Jin has returned to the screen, choosing Riding Life due to her interest in children’s education.
On the afternoon of the 25th, the production presentation for the Genie TV original drama Riding Life was held online, with Jeon Hye Jin, Jo Min Soo, Jung Jin Young, Jeon Seok Ho, and director Kim Cheol Gyu in attendance.
Riding Life follows the lives of three generations of mothers and daughters in Daechi dong (located in the Gangnam district of Seoul, is renowned as South Korea’s top education hub, home to prestigious academies, hagwons, and a highly competitive academic culture.) The story centers on Jeong Eun (played by Jeon Hye Jin), a dedicated working mom preparing her daughter for the “7-year-old civil service exam,” who entrusts her mother, Ji Ah (played by Jo Min Soo), to a “riding academy.”

During the press conference, Jeon Hye Jin shared her reasons for choosing Riding Life. She stated, “I’ve always been very interested in education. Regardless of time or place, when you become a mother—especially in Korea—education becomes a major concern.” She added, “The story of the Daechi-dong academy district immediately caught my attention.”
Her character, Jeong Eun, is a “struggling” working mom who pours her energy into raising her 7-year-old daughter while striving to maintain a career worthy of recognition. When asked how much she relates to the character, Jeon Hye Jin responded, “About 70%,” adding, “I wondered, ‘Am I as passionate about education as Jeong Eun?’”
She also expressed her desire to support working mothers through this role. “No matter what, we do our best. The path may not always be right, and we may have regrets when we look back, but I want to cheer them on.”
Since the drama is titled Riding Life, Jeon Hye Jin was also asked if she had any personal experiences with riding her children. As a mother of two sons, she reflected, “I’ve been ‘riding’ since they were born.”
She continued, “Even when they were a little older, I would still take them places, especially when the weather was bad. Now, I usually take the bus, but if they say, ‘It’s urgent,’ I go out when I have time. These days, I’m a bit more assertive and say, ‘I don’t have time, but I’ll take you there.’”
Jeon Hye Jin concluded by saying, “I hope viewers find comfort, encouragement, and enjoyment in Riding Life, which premieres just in time for the start of the new school semester.”
Meanwhile, Jeon Hye Jin married Lee Sun Gyun in 2009, and they have two sons. Her comeback drama, Riding Life, is set to premiere on March 3rd at 10 p.m KST on Genie TV, Genie TV Mobile, and ENA.
