HYBE's BTS, Seventeen, TXT, and ENHYPEN face contract renewals soon

HYBE can be seen as one of the powerhouses of top male idol groups, producing big names, including BTS.

But just like any entertainment company, HYBE is approaching a contract renewal period for their key artists. The giant conglomerate label is up for contract renewal with most of its male idol groups, such as BTS, Seventeen, TXT, and ENHYPEN.

BTS renewed their contracts in 2023, but speculation suggests the renewal period may be shorter than before. Unlike their previous renewal, HYBE did not publicly disclose the duration, leading many to believe it was a temporary extension and may be up for renewal in 2026 or 2027.

Seventeen signed an early renewal and will reach their next contract decision in 2026. However, military enlistment for some members may delay their renewal timeline, while foreign members are expected to negotiate their contracts first.

TXT is approaching its first contract renewal in 2026, and ENHYPEN, the youngest of the four groups, will face its first renewal in 2027.

With HYBE's major male groups up for contract renewal soon, netizens are keeping their eyes open for any updates. Some fans are already gathering in a popular online community to discuss and share their thoughts on the renewal.

They commented:

"BTS should leave."
"HYBE seems really bitter—hoping for a clean break."
"Even if fans dislike HYBE, there's no real reason for the artists themselves to hate the company."
"For the artists, staying with HYBE is beneficial to them, so they’ll probably all renew their contracts—though not sure about a second renewal."
"Hoping all groups successfully leave."
"Considering what they've gained from HYBE, I doubt anyone will leave lol. Plus, HYBE won’t let them go easily."
"Please, just have a clean breakup... begging."
"Sigh, I’m worried about how they’ll leave. HYBE has done so many shady things... but still hoping for an exit."
"BTS and Seventeen are uncertain, but the other two groups will probably stay. They haven’t fully established solo careers, and from an artist’s perspective, there’s no reason not to renew—even if fans are frustrated."
"BTS should leave and make the music they want under their own labels."
"I really hope they leave HYBE, but I doubt a clean breakup is possible. The company is too shady."
"Hoping for HYBE’s downfall… wishing all the artists find better agencies and leave peacefully."
"Regardless of HYBE’s control over song production, groups of their level would still receive good songs even under independent labels."
"Honestly, HYBE would be fine as long as BTS is the only group that leaves. But after seeing what they did to NewJeans, they’ll probably fight dirty if BTS tries to leave.
"At this point, the BTS members could form their own companies."
"Honestly, I think all groups except BTS will renew."
"BTS should leave and go their own way, even if some members choose to stay. Hoping for a safe exit from HYBE."
"What clean break? They probably don’t even want to leave, unless they’re on BTS’s level.
They’ll all probably renew. Leaving wouldn’t necessarily improve things."
