Earlier this year, it was reported that JYP Entertainment won the bid for the last parcel of land at the Godeok Biz Valley, a large-scale business district in Gandgong-gu, Seoul.
JYP Entertainment also revealed the design concept for their new headquarters featuring an open park within the building. According to reports, the new JYP Entertainment building has been designed by renowned architect Yoo Hyun Joon, a professor at Hongik University’s School of Architecture and Urban Design.
JYP Entertainment plans to construct the building by 2028 at the earliest, with five underground levels and 22 above-ground floors, totaling a gross floor area of 59,475 square meters. The new headquarters will be built on the distribution and sales facility site in the Godeok Gangil District 1 area, which JYP won in October last year through its consortium with TKG Taekwang and Bando Construction.
Korean netizens have gathered their interest in JYP Entertainment's new building and are in awe of the unique design that incorporates a park within the building.
They commented:
"JYP Entertainment must've earned a lot of money."
"It’s unique and pretty. It’d be nice to see more unique buildings like this. But I’m not sure if it’ll actually turn out like that, lol. Especially those glass rooms inside—they’ll probably end up with curtains, lol."
"Yoo Hyun Joon is a top architect, so I’m sure he’s designed it well."
"It’s unique, but that’s about it—just unique."
"Wow, it’s cool!!"
"Just from the photos, it looks really pretty."
"Another new headquarters?"
"This is just a proposal photo, so we don't know if they would use this building design. I hope the exterior looks great when it's finished."
"I don't like the full glass windows idea."
"Looks like some kind of church."
"Wow."
"Looks beautiful."
"Very cool how it features a park inside."
"The building design looks amazing. Not sure why people are saying it looks weird."
