CCTV footage capturing a terrifying arson attack on Seoul Subway Line 5 was released to the public on June 25.
The incident, which took place on May 31, has led to serious charges against the suspect. Prosecutors have indicted the man, who is currently in custody, on attempted murder charges targeting 160 passengers.
The video shows the man wearing a white hat taking a bottle of gasoline from his bag while the train is in motion. He begins splashing the flammable liquid throughout the carriage, causing panic among commuters.
Passengers are seen scrambling to escape. A pregnant woman leaves one of her shoes behind as she urgently flees to the next car.
