As BTS member J-Hope’s discharge date approaches, more stories of his kindness are being shared.
J-Hope, who became the second member of BTS to enlist in April last year, is currently serving as an assistant instructor at the 36th Infantry Division’s recruit training center and is set to be discharged on October 17th.
Despite being in the military, J-Hope has continued to show his concern for abandoned dogs, warming the hearts of many.
Recently, it was revealed that J-Hope has been supporting a stray dog center in Imkok, Busan for three years and even donated pet food in celebration of Chuseok.
A volunteer shared on a blog, “We are always grateful to BTS’s J-Hope, who never forgets to send food for the dogs. Before Chuseok, J-Hope’s mother reached out to discuss donating food again, and we’re incredibly thankful for the consistent support. The shelter’s staff even said they feel wealthy every time the food arrives.” The volunteer also mentioned that J-Hope’s donations have helped improve the conditions of the center.
In fact, J-Hope had not intended for his charitable acts to be made public, but they were revealed at the request of the stray dog center. Back in February 2022, J-Hope learned about the poor conditions of the center and donated funds to build 10 new dog shelters and provide pet food. Since then, he has continued his regular contributions.
Additionally, in September 2023, J-Hope sent a food truck to a volunteer site where the Korea Animal Hospital Association was conducting spaying and neutering surgeries for abandoned animals, offering a gesture of warmth.
Last month, fellow soldiers shared another story about J-Hope’s generosity. He reportedly covered the entire cost of a social gathering for his fellow recruits. In gratitude, his fellow soldiers created a banner featuring J-Hope’s face.
The banner read, “A gathering of Sergeant Jung Hoseok, Sergeant Baekho Battalion’s recruits, fully sponsored and supported by BTS’s J-Hope.” Above his image, a speech bubble said, “Thanks for all your hard work, guys. I’m treating you, so have fun! " catching the attention of many.
With J-Hope’s discharge just around the corner, fans eagerly anticipate how he will continue to spread positivity after his return from the military.
