April's past relay singing video sparks new discussion on the group tension and bullying allegations

AKP STAFF

A past video featuring April members singing their track "Tinker Bell" in a relay style has sparked a discussion online.

In the clip, the group shares a single microphone, but what caught netizens' attention was how the members appeared to push and jostle each other for control of the mic. Many netizens pointed out that there was something unnatural about this interaction between the members as they noticed that member Hyunjoon, in particular, seemed subtly excluded and uncomfortable.

"Was vertical live singing relay always this uncomfortable?"
"But why is it so chaotic?

"After the incident came to light, you can clearly see that one person is being left out."
"Even without considering the bullying rumors, the video feels strange...? I wasn’t paying attention before, but why is this so different from other vertical live singing relay?"
"It doesn’t look like they’re just playing around. Everyone seems too greedy…"
"They don’t even seem like idols anymore. There’s so much frowning, pushing, and stealing parts—who does this?"
"Honestly, it’s a mess. It’s all about getting their own face time and spotlight; none of them are considerate. This group doesn’t work together at all. It’s a total disaster. It’s disgusting."
"The rest of them are also pushing and glaring at each other... I’ve never seen a vertical live singing relay this chaotic. It’s giving me a headache."

This video and the comment section of this video were revisited following the latest resurfacing of the bullying controversy. Many Korean netizens were once again shocked by the visible discomfort seen in one of the members.

Korean netizens commented:

"I can clearly that she doesn't have 'main character disease'."

"Wow, it seems she's having a hard time."

"There is overwhelming evidence of bullying. How can people like that be idols? It's so pitiful. They’re laughing and chatting amongst themselves while ignoring one person. If they acted this way in videos aired on TV, imagine how much worse it was when the cameras weren’t rolling. They’re despicable. All of them, including the management and staff who didn’t educate them properly, are part of the problem. No wonder they’re falling apart due to poor management. Hyunjoo, fighting! These people shouldn’t be allowed to appear again."

"It's really hard when you're being left out but then you have to pretend you're not being left out. It makes you feel like dying."

"Who would be able to endure a working environment like that, if it's so clear you're being left out."

"When I first saw this video, I thought it was so weird how they were pushing each other like that."

"It hurts my heart to see this video."

"It's so chaotic."

"It gets more chaotic from the middle of the video."

"I can only imagine how it would be off camera... if they're like this on-camera... for those who say they don't know who Hyunjoo is, it's probably because she's the one working hard on her own."

"The mood is weird for sure."

"I didn't know what Hyunjoo looked like but I can tell who she is right away."

"I can tell who Hyunjoo is right away. This means that the fans were much more aware of how they were treating her."

"This is so tiring... How can you work in an environment like that?"
