Netflix announced on July 17 KST that the movie 'Cross' starring Hwang Jung Min and Yum Jung Ah, will be exclusively released on August 9 KST.
Directed by Lee Myung Hoon in his feature film debut, this movie tells the story of a former agent, Kang Moo (played by Hwang Jung Min), who lives as a veteran house-husband hiding his past, and his wife Mi Sun (played by Yum Jung Ah), an ace in the major crimes investigation unit, as they get embroiled in a massive case.
Originally, 'Cross' was set to be distributed by Plus M Entertainment and released in theaters during the Lunar New Year holidays in February.
However, the release was postponed following the sudden death of actor Lee Sun Gyun, the husband of actress Jeon Hye Jin, who plays Kang Moo's junior Hee Joo in the film, in December of last year.
Although a theatrical release was considered for this summer or the Chuseok(Korean Thanksgiving) holidays, the film ultimately chose to premiere on Netflix.
