Jin (Kim Seok-jin) of BTS will make his first variety show appearance after completing his military service. According to a report by Star News on the 1st, Jin participated as a guest worker in the filming of MBC's variety show "Relax and Rest," which took place on an uninhabited island late last month. His episode is scheduled to air in the near future.
"Relax and Rest" is a reality show and a spin-off of "If You Fight, It's Over.", led by 'Village Chief' Ahn Jung-hwan, who previously hosted In this show, Ahn renovates an abandoned house on a deserted island and invites viewers to experience a '0.5-star island check-in.' The program aims to provide 5-star service in a 0.5-star environment, attracting viewers who dream of escaping the bustling city life for a more natural setting. The participants, including Ahn and his guest workers, strive to offer exceptional service despite the island's lack of basic amenities such as water and electricity.
Jin, who was discharged from military service on June 12, will reconnect with his audience through "Relax and Rest." Fans and viewers are highly anticipating what charm and performance Jin will showcase as he takes on the challenge of an outdoor reality show. Prior to his enlistment at the end of 2022, Jin demonstrated his entertainment skills on various variety programs, including "The Running Man," "My Little Old Boy," and "Please Take Care of My Refrigerator."
Jin has signaled a busy schedule immediately following his discharge, heightening fans' expectations. On June 30, he responded to a fan's inquiry on the fan community platform Weverse, stating, "I am recording, filming variety shows, and progressing with the plans I made in the military. I aim to make frequent appearances while also focusing on my main profession. Please wait a little longer for the results, which will be released in a few months." He also participated in BTS's 11th-anniversary event, "2024 BTS FESTA," on June 13, marking his first official activity post-discharge.
