According to a report by Dispatch, BTS' Jin will reportedly carry the torch for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. He is set to participate as a torchbearer on June 27 (KST). Jin will soon depart for France, with exact dates and locations yet to be disclosed.
Following his military discharge, Jin is ramping up his activities. In addition to the torch relay, he is currently recording new music.
The Paris Olympic torch, lit in Greece, arrived in France last month. It will travel through over 400 locations, covering about 12,000 kilometers, before arriving at the opening ceremony on June 27.
Around 11,000 torchbearers are participating, including Jin, notable athletes, Holocaust survivors, relatives of Nice terror attack victims, astronauts, and sanitation workers.
The 2024 Paris Summer Olympics will run from June 27 to August 11, featuring over 15,000 athletes from 206 countries competing in 329 events across 32 sports.
South Korea will send up to 142 athletes across 21 sports, with hopes of securing gold medals in archery, fencing, badminton, and taekwondo. The Korean team’s send-off ceremony is scheduled for July 9.
