In the latest episode of Daesung's YouTube show 'Zip Daesung,' Junsu confessed that TVXQ was wary of Big Bang when the group first debuted.
In the latest episode that premiered on June 7, Junsu met with Daesung at a restaurant for some quality time. The two went down memory lane and reminisced about when they first met.
During the discussion, Junsu revealed that TXVQ had concerns regarding Big Bang, perceiving them as a huge threat to their standing as one of the top boy groups of that era.
Junsu explained, "We won Daesangs (the grand prize) in all the music award shows that year. So, at the time, we thought 'There's not gonna be any rivals in Korea for a while.' So we planned to focus on Japan a bit more." He continued, "Then one day, that song 'Lies' exploded (in 2006). So, our company and us as well, we were... not slightly, but very worried that the public had moved over to Big Bang's side."
Junsu added, "We thought, we can't delay this anymore. Although we were making it big in Japan, we felt like we were losing our domestic fandom. So we thought, 'We have to exceed Big Bang' (and felt threatened for the first time)."
As a fan, I live for this day where huge celebrities who couldn't be seen together back in their prime days are doing shows together like this now.
