YoonA faces alleged racial discrimination at Cannes Film Festival

YoonA from Girls' Generation reportedly faced racial discrimination by a security guard at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, according to reports from Times of India and other international media. As the only Korean ambassador for the jewelry brand Qeelin, Yoona was officially invited to attend the festival on May 21.
Dressed in a pink gown and radiating charm, Yoona was ready to shine at the event. However, an incident occurred as she was climbing the stairs and attempted to pose for the press. A video of the incident shows a female security guard physically preventing Yoona from posing, causing visible confusion and discomfort on the face. Despite trying to maintain composure and waving calmly at the cameras, the guard did not allow her to proceed with the pose and gestured for her to enter the venue.
Reports suggest that this guard may have specifically targeted women of color, as similar restrictions were not applied to white women at the same location. Notably, African American singer Kelly Rowland and Dominican actress Masiel Taveras also experienced similar discriminatory treatment during the festival.
Social media posts, including videos on X, highlighted confrontations involving both celebrities with security personnel.
In response to these events, netizens have called for the immediate dismissal of the involved security guard, condemning the actions as clear racial discrimination.

the way she treated foreign stars is so bad, but being who she is, I could say that she treated YoonA more kindly because she treated various Western celebrities worse, such as example to the white european-ukrainian model. W * t c h!. 🤬

TBH, YoonA impressed me how she still maintained her spiritual calm with that w * t c h who today became the most hated female security guard in the world, who also deserved to be slapped by YoonA.

Analyzing Yoona's case, I think that YoonA did not suffer racial discrimination at the Cannes.
YoonA had already finished her photo-shoot on the Cannes's red carpet successfully, without any problem, so she decided to leave there, unfortunately escorted by that incompetent security guard who has weird and uncivilized habits for escorting celebrities using her uncomfortable and unnecessary arms, she did it with all the celebrities she escorted, including white Western celebrities, so she doesn't do it out of discrimination, much less racism.
The moment Yoona reached the top of the stairs, the voices of her fans calling her catch her attention so she politely greeted them, she didn't try to stay there to pose for the press, so that security guard didn't need to use her arm nor obstruct that greeting for her fans. That security guard is so unwise and unprofessional with all the celebrities she escorts, she really needs to improve her behavior & habits of dealing with all the celebrities. That's all.
