Last December 16, PENSHOPPE brought in the latest addition to their roster of global ambassadors — EXO’s Park Chanyeol — to the Philippines for an
exclusive fan meet. Held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, the event was CHANYEOL’s biggest fan
meet to date in Manila, delighting fans just in time for the holidays!
The night started off with high energy as the multi-talented performer kicked off the show
wooing the audience with a slick performance of EXO-SC’s “Nothin,” while donning pieces
from PENSHOPPE’s Holiday Collection.
Host Kring Kim then formally welcomed fans and opened the
program with a “Keeping Up with CHANYEOL Segment,” where The Cherry Prince himself
got to select from an assortment of oversized envelopes, each containing questions that
allowed fans to get to know the K-Pop sensation in a more personal way.
After which, those in the arena swooned collectively as the “Happy Virus” began a fun fast
talk-style segment, where he answered questions sent in by members of the audience.
Fans then got to impress and show off their moves as CHANYEOL played audience for the
“Don’t Mess Up my Tempo!” segment, where he watched fans bust a move via PENSHOPPE-produced dance videos. To add even more color to the night, he accepted the
challenge of guessing which songs the moves were originally choreographed to. The
segment proved how connected CHANYEOL is to his fans, while also showing off the idol’s
playful personality.
CHANYEOL then proceeded to show off his creative chops as he designed five PENSHOPPE
tees, using art materials provided to him onstage. These original designs were then raffled
off to the audience. But if that wasn’t enough to excite fans, CHANYEOL further upped the
ante as the host challenged him to say, “Mahal Kita” in different expressions – with an
on-screen Kilig Meter measuring just how enchanted fans were by CHANEYOL’s
proclamation of love for them.
Fans then likewise got to share admiration for CHANYEOL firsthand via voice notes that
were broadcast during the show, as well as a fan sign big enough for CHANYEOL to
read from the stage.
To end the touching segment, CHANYEOL was then reaffirmed as fans’ “Cherry Prince”
with a crown handed to him, and every member of the audience wearing their own
Cherry-adorned crowns in recognition of him being their true Cherry Prince!
Throughout the night, CHANYEOL also performed fan-favorites including "Tomorrow," "SSFW," "Rodeo Station," and his latest hit single, "Good Enough."
PENSHOPPE's fan meet is not only an idyllic end to what was his busiest year yet in the Philippines, it is also his first time performing several of his songs solo in Manila, as an offshoot of his ongoing fancon tour.
“This event is the perfect way to culminate CHANYEOL’s exciting year with PENSHOPPE,”
said PENSHOPPE Brand Director Brandon Liu. “The way Filipinos appreciate music and
culture has evolved greatly over time and PENSHOPPE’s partnership with CHANYEOL is a
testament to this appreciation for diversity. We’re proud to be a brand that enables the
varied interests and capabilities of Filipinos today and we’re proud to do so with a
powerhouse like CHANYEOL,” he added.
Announced as its newest ambassador in March, CHANYEOL has boasted of PENSHOPPE’s
everyday-wear pieces, effortlessly pulling off looks from the brand’s Easy Neutrals
collection—switching between both dressier and laid-back looks. His partnership with
PENSHOPPE was meant not only to showcase his iconic style and fashion but to also
strengthen the idol’s relationship with both his fans and PENSHOPPE patrons.
“In almost a year of working withCHANYEOL, we’ve really seen howhis style has influenced
Filipino fans greatly. They’re inspiredto make a statement, while stayingtrue to their
personal style the way CHANYEOL does. We’re confidentthat this partnership will allow fans
to better connect with himand know him in a way different from before,” said GOLDEN
ABC’s Vice President for Retail Brands Jeff Bascon.
