HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk shared his thoughts on the re-signing of BTS.
TVN variety show 'You Quiz on the Block,' a special episode titled 'Fateful Encounters' featured JYP's Park Jin-young and HYBE's Bang Si-hyuk as guests.
During the episode, the host Yoo Jae-suk said, "Since both of you are here, please introduce your companies." Park Jin-young mentioned, "I belong to JYP Entertainment," while Bang Si-hyuk explained, "I was a producer at Jin-young's company, and we co-managed it as co-CEOs. Jin-young gave me the nickname 'Hitman,' which I changed to 'Big Hit' when I founded Big Hit Entertainment."
Bang Si-hyuk continued, "I wanted to bring a 'hit' to our company, so we changed the company's name from Big Hit Entertainment to HYBE. Many people now know us as HYBE."
Bang Si-hyuk specifically mentioned the re-signing of all the BTS members. He expressed his thoughts by saying, "There aren't many artists at the level of BTS who have many choices. The fact that they chose to re-sign with us acknowledges the history of working together as a management leader and the label head. It felt like mutual respect, and I was grateful that we did well with BTS. People often talk about how we always have happy moments, but most of the process involves a lot of coordination. However, when BTS said, 'We trust our hyung (older brother) and will give it a try,' it felt like the happiest memory of my over 20 years in the management profession since I chose this career."
I'm happy that BTS signed with HYBE again. HYBE's been good to them. And let's not forget that BTS made HYBE what it is today.
