Jimin continues to thrive as a soloist with new records on Spotify's Song and Artist charts
Jimin was already a stellar and standout performer both in vocals and dance all through BTS' 10-year career, but following his official solo debut 4 months ago, he has proven himself even more as one of the most successful Korean soloists. He has consistently set new records and broken existing ones ever since the release of his song and album, and he continues to do so to date.
Recently, Jimin set new records on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, both on the song chart and the artists' chart. As of the latest Spotify update for the chart dated August 11, Jimin spent his 150th day on the Global Daily Top Artists chart, becoming the first and only K-pop/Korean solo artist to reach this milestone. He also spent his 21st week on the Global Weekly Top Artists chart for the week of August 10, to become the longest charting Korean/K-pop solo artist on the chart, never having left the chart since officially debuting as a soloist.
Jimin has also been #1 on Spotify South Korea Daily Top Artists chart for 91 days, becoming the longest charting solo artist globally at #1 on the chart.
Overall, including group acts, Jimin is the 6th longest charting K-pop act on Spotify Global Daily Top Artists chart.
As of the Spotify update on August 9, 'Like Crazy' spent its 73rd day on Spotify USA Daily Top Songs chart, breaking its tie with Lisa's 'Money' to become the longest charting solo song by a K-pop soloist on the chart. Overall, 'Like Crazy' is the second longest charting song by a K-pop soloist on the chart, of which the top song is a collaboration track.
As of the latest update on August 11, 'Like Crazy' has extended its lead to 75 days on the chart to maintain its record. It has also been in the Top 50 of the Global Daily Top Songs chart for 131 days now, also extending its record as the longest charting song by a K-pop soloist in the Top 50 of this chart,
Similarly, considering the high daily streaming rates for 'Like Crazy', his album 'FACE' has also consequently accumulated streams very quickly and after becoming the most streamed album by a Korean solo artist in the history of Spotify just a few days ago [read here], the album has now earned yet another new record as the most streamed album of 2023 by a K-pop act on Spotify! 'FACE' has achieved this title after garnering 933 million streams in just 141 days.
Congratulations Jimin on all your successes!
