In a time where family-friendly variety shows are becoming harder to find, the ones that bring laughter into our living rooms have never been more cherished. With the rise of streaming platforms, broadcast companies strive to retain viewer attention, prompting a resurgence of iconic shows. One such beloved program, 'Strong Heart,' which graced our screens from 2009 to 2013, is making a triumphant return as 'Strong Heart League.' Its reappearance has rekindled the joy of watching celebrities share their zaniest anecdotes and experiences. This nostalgic revival has sparked excitement among viewers and fueled their desire to see the return of more such variety shows. Here are six other much-missed programs that fans are eager to welcome back.
1. "X-Man": Games, couple matching, talent shows, and the twist? There's a spy among all the participants, "X-Man" received much love when the show first aired, with hosts Kang Ho Dong, HaHa, and Yoo Jae Suk taking the lead. Of course, we cannot forget the most iconic game of all, "Dangyeonhaji," where two opponents would roast one another, "X-Man" is a variety show like no other, so it'd be great to see it come back on screen.
2. "Infinity Challenge": While "Infinity Challenge" didn't do so well in the beginning. However, over time this show became one of the most beloved shows of all time. Taking up multiple challenges and even creating and producing songs, there's no doubt that this show would be even more loved today.
3. "Hello Baby": Who doesn't love to see their favorite K-stars babysitting? You get to see a completely new side to the celebrities: the gentler, soft persona. Plus, add the cute babies, and this is a win-win in anyone's book.
4. "Thank You For Waking Me Up": There's always that one member that can never get up in the morning, but fear not because Park Kyung Lim, who was the host for "Thank You for Waking Me Up," will get you waking up super early in the morning without any hesitation, with the number of K-idols today, it'd be interesting to see how they react when they find someone adamantly trying to get them to wake up.
5. "Lee Kyung Kyu's Hidden Camera": Expecting the unexpected is what makes this show so great. Veteran host Lee Kyung Kyu became legendary for his hidden camera pranks, and many viewers can see why, as the reactions received got you laughing your butt off.
6. "Manwon Happiness": If you're looking for a stingy show, then "Manwon Happiness" is the go-to variety program. Celebrities are given ten thousand won (8 USD) maximum to buy food, and you get to see the hangry side of these K-stars doing their best to make it through the day on so little of a budget.
If there's a chance that any previous Korean variety show can air once more, what programs would you want to see on the screen?
