A video of Sero, the zebra that was seen roaming downtown Seoul's streets and neighborhoods, being beaten by a kangaroo is garnering much attention.
On March 23, a video was uploaded online showing a kangaroo attacking a Sero by punching and grabbing the zebra's face. Netizens expressed sadness for the helpless zebra that couldn't fight back. The video was later discovered to have been taken just before Sero escaped from the zoo.
Further updates revealed that Sero had lost both his parents and had difficulty adjusting to his new environment. His rebellious tendencies were evident as he caused trouble by picking fights with the kangaroo in the neighboring enclosure or refusing to return inside.
It's speculated that the recent video of the kangaroo hitting Sero was a result of his rebellious behavior. Previously, Sero had escaped from Children's Grand Park in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, and wandered around the city. Videos of the lost zebra surfaced on social media, showing him wandering aimlessly and appearing disoriented. After three hours, he was captured by authorities.
In response to Sero's loneliness, the zoo plans to introduce him to a mate by arranging a breeder. Hopefully, this will improve his quality of life and alleviate his loneliness.
