BLACKPINK's LISA becomes the First Soloist in history to win "Best K-Pop" at both the MTV Video Music Awards and the MTV Europe Music Awards
"LALISA" was a hit and continues to win awards, this time making BLACKPINK's Lisa make history again with a new career high.
On November 13, the MTV EMA 2022 was held, the presentation ceremony of MTV in Europe, and BLACKPINK's Lisa had been nominated as a solo artist in the "Best Kpop" category with her hit "LALISA" competing against BTS, Seventeen, Twice, Itzy and even against their own group BLACKPINK.
After several tense minutes, Lisa was finally named the winner of the "Best K-Pop" award at the 2022 MTV European Music Awards, and BLINKS around the world are incredibly proud.
Although Lisa was unable to attend the ceremony in person to collect her award, she shared her appreciation with fans everywhere in a pre-recorded video:
“I feel very honored to have won the EMA for Best K-Pop this year.”
“Your support for LALISA and our new album means a lot to me. Enjoy the rest of the night and I hope to see you at one of our shows on the 'Born Pink' tour."
On the other hand, a few months ago, BLACKPINK's Lisa made history by being the first K-pop soloist to be nominated at the 2022 MTV VMAs. On top of that, she also became the first Asian soloist to win the award.
Incredible as it sounds, the records set by Lisa did not end there as both awards she received for her great impact as a solo artist made her establish another new achievement in the history of Thailand and Kpop in general.
Officially BLACKPINK's Lisa became the first soloist in history to win "Best K-Pop" at both the MTV Video Music Awards and the MTV Europe Music Awards, and all this great feat was achieved in the same year, which the international media were quick to congratulate her.

I’m happy for Lisa but do we need to include very single tweet in an article like this? Wouldn’t one link to one tweet be better or a link to a hashtag? Adding in similar tweets just makes this unnecessarily long and almost unreadable

But... Isn't this only the second year for them to even give out the European version of this award? And in both years, the same artist winning the VMA has also been awarded the EMA. I mean congratulations to her, but this isn't exactly a long-standing record being broken. It's a new award, and she followed the pattern of exactly the one other time they've given it out.
